Learning to Wait Under the Stars
Wanting to capture a closer view of the Elephant Trunk Nebula, I decided to revisit the same target that I had previously photographed at 365mm—this time using a 600mm focal length. Unfortunately, most of my imaging sessions took place on nights with a thin layer of clouds. Even though I spent more hours collecting data, the quality of the data wasn't as good as I had hoped. Because of that, the final image didn't quite turn out the way I wanted during processing, especially when creating the SHO version.
This is one of the challenges I've been experiencing recently. Because of the weather, truly clear and cloudless nights have become quite rare. Sometimes, after waiting nearly two weeks, I may only get one or two nights with perfectly clear skies. That means if something goes wrong during an imaging session—whether it's an issue with the framing, focus, guiding, or simply poor data—I may have to wait a long time before getting another opportunity to capture the target again. For someone like me who can only do astrophotography on weekends, the waiting can be even longer. Missing one good opportunity can sometimes mean waiting another month, or even two, before I get another chance.
At times, it can definitely be frustrating. After spending hours setting up the equipment, carefully planning the session, and collecting data throughout the night, it's disappointing when the final result doesn't turn out the way you imagined. But I guess that's simply part of the nature of astrophotography. We can't control the weather, the clouds, or how often the sky decides to cooperate with us. All we can do is prepare, learn from every session, and wait patiently for the next clear night.
And perhaps that's one of the things astrophotography teaches us the most—patience. After all, the waiting, the mistakes, the cloudy nights, and even the disappointing results are all part of the journey. So, in the end, you just have to enjoy it.

Elephant Trunk Nebula ကို ပိုအနီးကပ် မြင်ရအောင် ရိုက်ချင်လို့ အရင်က 365mm နဲ့ ရိုက်ခဲ့တဲ့ target ကို ဒီတစ်ခါ 600mm focal length နဲ့ ပြန်ရိုက်ကြည့်ဖို့ ဆုံးဖြတ်ခဲ့ပါတယ်။ ဒါပေမယ့် ကံမကောင်းစွာနဲ့ပဲ ရိုက်ကူးခဲ့တဲ့ညအများစုမှာ တိမ်အလွှာပါးပါးတွေ ရှိနေခဲ့ပါတယ်။ ရိုက်ကူးချိန်ကို နာရီပိုပေးပြီး data ပိုစုဆောင်းခဲ့ပေမယ့် မျှော်လင့်ထားသလောက် အရည်အသွေးကောင်းတဲ့ data တွေ မရခဲ့ပါဘူး။ အဲဒါကြောင့် image processing လုပ်တဲ့အချိန်မှာလည်း ကိုယ်မျှော်မှန်းထားသလို ရလဒ်မျိုး မထွက်လာခဲ့ပါဘူး။ အထူးသဖြင့် SHO version ကို ပြုလုပ်တဲ့အချိန်မှာ ပိုပြီး သိသာခဲ့ပါတယ်။
ဒီလပိုင်းတွေမှာ ရာသီဥတုကြောင့် တိမ်လုံးဝကင်းစင်ပြီး ကြည်လင်တဲ့ညတွေက တော်တော်ရှားလာပါတယ်။ တစ်ခါတစ်ရံ နှစ်ပတ်လောက် စောင့်ပြီးမှ တကယ်တမ်း ကောင်းကောင်းရိုက်လို့ရမယ့် clear night တစ်ရက်၊ နှစ်ရက်လောက်ပဲ ရတတ်ပါတယ်။ ဒါကြောင့် imaging session တစ်ခုမှာ တစ်ခုခုမှားသွားခဲ့ရင် framing, focus, guiding ပြဿနာဖြစ်တာပဲဖြစ်ဖြစ်၊ data quality မကောင်းတာပဲဖြစ်ဖြစ် အဲဒီ target ကို ပြန်ရိုက်ဖို့ အချိန်အတော်ကြာ စောင့်ရနိုင်ပါတယ်။ ကျွန်တော့်လို weekend ရက်တွေမှာပဲ astrophotography ရိုက်နိုင်တဲ့သူမျိုးအတွက်တော့ စောင့်ရတဲ့အချိန်က ပိုရှည်နိုင်ပါတယ်။ ရိုက်ကူးဖို့ အခွင့်အရေးကောင်းတစ်ခု လွတ်သွားတာ ဒါမှမဟုတ် data မှာ အမှားတစ်ခုခု ဖြစ်သွားတာက နောက်တစ်ကြိမ် ပြန်ရိုက်ဖို့ တစ်လ၊ တစ်ခါတစ်ရံ နှစ်လလောက်အထိ စောင့်ရနိုင်တာကို ဆိုလိုပါတယ်။
တစ်ခါတစ်ရံတော့ စိတ်ပျက်စရာကောင်းတာ အမှန်ပါပဲ။ Equipment တွေအားလုံး setup လုပ်ပြီး၊ session ကို သေချာစီစဉ်ကာ တစ်ညလုံး အချိန်ပေးပြီး data တွေ စုဆောင်းခဲ့ပေမယ့် နောက်ဆုံး result က ကိုယ်မျှော်လင့်ထားသလို မထွက်လာတဲ့အချိန်မှာတော့ စိတ်မကောင်းဖြစ်မိတာ သဘာဝပါပဲ။ ဒါပေမယ့် ဒါတွေအားလုံးက astrophotography ရဲ့ သဘာဝတစ်စိတ်တစ်ပိုင်း ပဲလို့ ထင်ပါတယ်။ ရာသီဥတုကို ကျွန်တော်တို့ မထိန်းချုပ်နိုင်ပါဘူး။ တိမ်တွေကိုလည်း ဖယ်ရှားလို့ မရသလို၊ ကောင်းတဲ့ clear night တစ်ည ဘယ်အချိန်ရမလဲဆိုတာကိုလည်း ကျွန်တော်တို့ ဆုံးဖြတ်လို့ မရပါဘူး။ ကျွန်တော်တို့ လုပ်နိုင်တာကတော့ အချိန်တိုင်းအတွက် အဆင်သင့်ဖြစ်အောင် ပြင်ဆင်ထားဖို့၊ session တစ်ခါစီကနေ သင်ယူဖို့နဲ့ နောက်ထပ် clear night တစ်ညကို စိတ်ရှည်ရှည်နဲ့ စောင့်ဆိုင်းဖို့ပဲ ဖြစ်ပါတယ်။
Astrophotography က ကျွန်တော့်ကို အများဆုံး သင်ပေးတဲ့အရာတွေထဲက တစ်ခုကတော့ စိတ်ရှည်ခြင်း ဖြစ်မယ်လို့ ထင်ပါတယ်။ စောင့်ဆိုင်းရတဲ့အချိန်တွေ၊ အမှားတွေ၊ တိမ်ထူတဲ့ညတွေ၊ ကိုယ်မျှော်လင့်ထားသလို မထွက်လာတဲ့ result တွေ ဒါတွေအားလုံးဟာလည်း ဒီ journey ရဲ့ တစ်စိတ်တစ်ပိုင်းပါပဲ။ ဒါကြောင့် နောက်ဆုံးမှာတော့ ဒီအရာအားလုံးကို ပျော်ပျော်ရွှင်ရွှင် ခံစားတတ်ဖို့ပဲ လိုပါတယ်.....
